IMPORTS AND TRADING IN NON-RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES
With our in-depth knowledge of market dynamics and customers’ requirements and established relationship with leading and renowned producers and suppliers across the globe, we are able to source Non-renewable energy resources from a wide variety of suppliers and deliver it to almost any destination in the world.
Thermal Coal
Also known as ‘Steam Coal’, is a good and cheapest source of energy. It’s the primary variety of fuel used in boilers to generate steam to produce power.

It is commonly used in all three core sectors viz., in Cement industries for Cement manufacturing, in Steel industries for Steel production and in Power plants for Electricity generation. It is also used in Chemical & Fertilizer industries for making other products through Gasification and Liquefaction process. Apart from these, it also finds extensive usage in other industrial units such as Sugar, Paper, Textiles & Dyeing, and DRI etc.
Coal is available across the globe and even in India. While Indian coals has high ash content, imported coals are preferred by many user industries in terms of low ash, Sulphur and Moisture.
We get most of our imports sourced out of Australia, Indonesia, US, South Africa and occasionally from Russia, China, Chile and Philippines.
Pet coke
Petroleum coke, abbreviated as ‘pet coke’ is a by-product of the oil refining process. After fuel products and lubricating oils have been processed from crude oil, the excess is superheated through a process called ‘Coking’. This produces a stable, carbonaceous solid fuel that is often used in Coal-fired Power plants and Cement kilns. As it has very high calorific content, which is more than coal, it is often considered as an alternate fuel to Coal.
It comes as ‘Fuel grade’ which represents about 75-80% of world over production is basically used in Cement and Power plants, whereas the other grade called ‘Anode grade’ is used in Aluminum, Steel and Batteries industries.
The majority of Pet coke is produced from refineries in US, followed by supplies from Saudi Arabia, Canada and Venezuela.
Anthracite
Anthracite is another variety of coal that’s almost entirely comprised of pure carbon (90% to 98%), making it the hardest form of coal. Anthracite has a submetallic luster and is difficult to ignite, but is known for being the cleanest burning form of coal as it gives off the least amount of pollutants (basically a smokeless fuel). It is also scarce in availability.
Its ability to provide ‘clean’ energy makes it a good option for organizations looking for a more eco-friendly power generation option. Anthracite is used for domestic furnaces as well as in steam-powered generators. It can also be liquefied to be utilized in internal combustion engines.
In metal smelting and fabrication industries, it is used as a reducing agent.
Traditionally sourced out of Australia, Indonesia, Russia, Colombia, South Africa, US and Vietnam.
